A Specialty concerned with evaluating, treating, and caring for respiratory system patients in critical and chronic cases in adults, children, and newborns. This includes treatment with oxygen and Bronchodilators such as sprays and aerosols, treatment of lung expansion and deflation, artificial respiration, and invasive and noninvasive ventilation. It also provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in the laboratory of lung functions and sleep disorders as it also assists in Bronchoscopy.
Requirements
Theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of the following:
1- Diagnosing lung functions, sleep tests, and blood gas.
2- Respiratory disease management.
3- Medical gases.
4- Respiratory therapy.
5- Respiratory medications.
6- Artificial respiration.
7- Respiratory care for children and newborns.
8- Critical care.
Qualifications
Certified Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy with Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized, supervised experience in the same field and in accredited healthcare facilities where the required inputs and tasks to practice the profession in this certain specialty are available.
